Los e-Joints para el uso exclusivo de concentrados líquidos o líquidos espesos tipo wax (aceites de cannabis (http://vaporizando.com/foro.php?topic=1386.msg4415#msg4415)) se empezaron a comercializar en 2010 inicialmente por la empresa THC Scientific, la cual desarrolló atomizadores adaptándolos a las características de un líquido como el THC Gold (http://vaporizando.com/foro.php?topic=1062.0), el cual posee otras características distintas al e-líquido. Se utiliza una tecnología y un diseño estrechamente ligado a los e-cigarrillos (e-cigars), de ahí que los denominemos: e-joints. Los primeros intentos fallidos de vaporizar líquidos espesos tipo wax fue con atomizadores de cigarrillos electrónicos, pero no eran adecuados, las mechas ardían, se jodían en pocas caladas o no llegaban a la potencia necesaria, dejando inutilizable el propio ato.

Mientras algunas empresas seguían reetiquetando e-cigars para hacerlos pasar por e-joints, en 2011 se sumó la empresa Thermo-Essence Technologies al mercado con nuevas ideas y nuevos diseños. Se ampliaba la oferta para el consumidor, que en un inicio era un mercado principalmente para usuarios terapéuticos de dispensario de cannabis, mayoritariamente en California; sin embargo, pronto se promocionaron por todo EEUU, Canadá y Europa. Pero los primeros dispositivos que se fabricaban todavía necesitaban mejorar.

El boom inicial de estos nuevos atomizadores hizo crecer pronto la oferta con nuevos diseños desde China, donde diferentes empresas occidentales etiquetan su marca al mismo producto o uno similar con peores materiales. En otras palabras, podemos encontrar el mismo atomizador con diferentes marcas. La mayoría de atos en el mercado utilizan una resistencia de nicrom y un trozo de mecha de sílice como elemento calefactor. Muchos pecan de buscar materiales baratos y de peor calidad facilitando aromas desagradables en el vapor.

Las principales empresas no cejan en su empeño de mejorar y crear los mejores productos. Los cartuchos que se han ido fabricando para líquidos espesos son mejorables, tanto en diseño, materiales, temperaturas, aromas, sistema de vaporización,... Por lo que vemos y veremos novedades constantemente:

El filtrado es muy útil para suavizar el denso vapor de un líquido espeso, y sobre todo es necesario para evitar inhalar salpicaduras que se producen en muchos atomizadores (por no decir todos :conf: )

La gente utilizaba los bongs y bubblers que utilizaban con otros vaporizadores, pero algunos fabricantes empezaron a sacar bubblers específicos para sus modelos como la empresa Delta9Vapes, entre otras.
